About | Ronald E. Regan, 79, formerly of Norwood Friday, July 21, 2023 - 12:18 pm BEMUS POINT -- Ronald E. Regan, 79, of Bemus Point, NY, passed away peacefully on June 30, 2023, in his home, with family at his side. He was born Nov. 9, 1943, in Potsdam, NY, a son of the late Emmett and Bernice Breaky Regan, and earned his bachelor’s degree in forestry at Paul Smith’s College and Master’s degree in Christian Family and Marriage Counseling from Andersonville Baptist Seminary. He came to the Jamestown area as a foreman on the Brooklyn Square project. Other employment included Forecon and Universal Mining. He later retired following a number of years as a family service worker with the Gustavus Adolphus Home at Lutheran Social Services. Ron was a member of the Bemus Point Volunteer Fire Dept. where he was one of the first five EMT’s. He had also been a member of the Bemus Point United Methodist Church. He was a great fan of baseball, having played in high school, college, and minor league. His interests included photography, fishing, golfing, woodworking, gardening, and bird watching. Surviving is his wife, Kathie Langebartel Regan whom he married on Nov. 11, 1983; four children, Michelle Peterson of Jacksonville, FL, Mary Knight (Alan Lockley) of Garland, TX, Scott Regan (Tammy Horton) of Ogdensburg, NY, and Shannon Lockwood (Jason) of Bemus Point; ten grandchildren, Lynn and Nicole Smith, Heather Peterson; Amanda Clark, James Phipps; Zack, Haley, and Hayden Regan; Joshua and Megan Lockwood; and four great-grandchildren. Also surviving are a sister, Norma Murray (George), and three brothers, Gary Regan (Linda), Phil Regan (Linda) and Steve Regan (Jerrine). In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter and two infant grandchildren. Funeral services were held on July 7th in Jamestown. Burial was in the Bemus Point Cemetery.
