About	Age 71 - Norfolk - Calling hours for 71 year old Darrel McDonald, a resident of 45 Joy Road, Norfolk and formerly of Norwood, will be held Friday, June 7, 2019 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Buck Funeral Home in Norwood. There will be a short prayer service following calling hours with Rev. Lee Sweeney presiding and a graveside service will be held at a later date in Riverside Cemetery in Norwood. Darrel passed away Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at his home surrounded by family. Darrel is survived by his wife of seventeen years, Donna Fitzpatrick McDonald, Norfolk; his brother Allen and Sandra McDonald, Oswegatchie; his sister, Gayle and Stephen Maxim, Norwood, along with nieces and nephews. Born in Potsdam, NY on April 7, 1948 to the late Wyman and Elva Pratt McDonald, Darrel graduated in 1968 from Norwood-Norfolk High school and served in the U.S. Airforce. Darrel married Donna Fitzpatrick on July 28, 2001 and he worked as a custodian at Norwood-Norfolk Central School until he retired in 2008. He enjoyed sports and was a referee for basketball, an umpire for baseball and softball, and a time keeper for soccer and basketball at both Norwood-Norfolk and SUNY Potsdam.
