Age 40 - Norfolk - Funeral services for Herbert J. Grant, 40, of 66 West Main St., Norfolk, will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Church of the Visitation with Rev. John Kennehan officiating. Burial will be in the Church of the Visitation Cemetery in Norfolk. Calling hours will be held Thursday evening and Friday afternoon and evening at the Buck Funeral Home in Norfolk. Arrangements are with the Donaldson Funeral Home in Massena. Herbert died unexpectedly Tuesday, March 5, 1985 and was pronounced dead on arrival at the Massena Memorial Hospital. Surviving are his wife, Ruth; his mother, Elizabeth Grant, Norfolk; two sons, Charles D. of Dallas,TX, Robert S. of Norfolk; a daughter, Melissa A., at home; two sisters; Mrs. Jesse McNulty, Massena, Mrs. Betty Kilby, Carroll, OH; one brother, Samuel,Massena; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Herbert was born in Potsdam on May 25, 1944, son of Samuel and Elizabeth Demeter Grant. Herbert was educated in Sacred Heart School in Massena and graduated in 1963 from Norwood-Norfolk Central School. Herbert married Ruth E. McGee on June 20, 1964 at St. Raymond's Church in Raymondville withe Msgr. John Waterhouse officiating. He was employed as a linesman for the New York Power Authority in Massena.
