About | Age 20 - Lisbon - A Canton man was killed and two passengers injured early Sunday morning after all three were ejected from their vehicle after it left the Bucks Bridge Road in the town of Lisbon and flipped over several times, say deputies. Thomas Greenwood, Jr., 20, Rt.3, Canton died from a broken neck and was pronounced dead at A.Barton Hepburn Hospital, according to St. Lawrence County Coroner Hugh Frame, after being transported from the accident scene by the Canton Rescue Squad. Two passengers in the vehicle, Steven Greenwood, 22, Rt. 1, Madrid and Harold Cota, 28, Potsdam were taken to Canton-Potsdam Hospital by the Madrid Rescue Squad where Greenwood was treated and released for head injuries. Cota remained in satisfactory condition Monday morning with head and internal injuries, said hospital officials. Deputies say Thomas Greenwood was operating the vehicle northeast along the Bucks Bridge Road about 12:07 a.m. Sunday when he apparently lost control of the vehicle on a left hand curve. Investigation into the cause of the accident is continuing. Funeral Services for Thomas Greenwood. Jr. will be held Wednesday March 6,1985 at 10 a.m. at St. Andrew's Church in Norwood with Monsignor George Phillips officiating. Spring burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery in Norwood. Calling hours will be Tuesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Buck Funeral Home in Norwood. He was born in Kingstown, RI on April 3,1964, son of Thomas and Beverly Ann LaRose Greenwood. He graduated from Norwood-Norfolk Central School in 1982 and was employed as a caretaker at St. Andrew's Church in Norwood. Surviving are his mother of Norwood; his father of Syracuse; his maternal grandmother, Mrs.Elizabeth LaRose, Norfolk; his paternal grandmother, Mrs. Margaret Greenwood, Massena; a brother, Steven, Madrid; a sister, Rachel Greenwood, at home; a half-sister, Kimberly Talcott, at home. |
