About Age 80 - Norwood - M. Claire Dockum, 80, formerly of Baldwin Avenue, died Sunday morning at Community Nursing Home, Potsdam. Mrs. Dockum was a substitute teacher at Norwood-Norfolk Central School, a second grade teacher at St. Andrew's Catholic School and a reading teacher at Norwood Elementary School until her retirement in 1979. She was a correspondent for the Watertown Daily Times and the Courier-Freeman newspapers. Born March 25, 1918, in Potsdam, a daughter of Carroll W. and Teresa Sheehan Jenner, she was a 1936 graduate of Norwood High School, a 1939 graduate of Potsdam Normal School and received a bachelor's degreee in education from Potsdam State Teachers College. She married Gerald R. Dockum on June 16, 1939, at St. Andrew's Church with the Rev. James E. Joy officiating. Mr. Dockum died Dec. 2, 1970. She was a communicant of St. Andrew's Church and a member of its Altar and Rosary Society, Catholic Daughters of America Court 715, Potsdam Zonta Club and American Association of Retired persons. Surviving are two sons, Daniel M., Margate, FL, and Dennis G. "Valli," Tampa, FL; four saughters, Mrs. Frank (Marna) Bellanca, Westerville, OH, Mrs. Matthew (Mary Ellen) Husson, Poquoson, VA., Mrs. Richard (Sheila) Paparo, Liverpool, and Mrs. Philip (Christine) Kenny, Poughkeepsie; two brothers, Carroll W. Jenner Jr., Scotia, and Clyde Jenner, Oakridge, TN; a sister, Mrs. Edward (Madge) Stever, Annandale, VA; 14 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and three cousins.
Two brothers, Mark and Robert Jenner, died before her. The Funeral will be at noon Wednesday at St. Mary's Church, Potsdam, with the Rev. Edward Papp officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Buck Funeral Home.
