About	Age 80, (NNCS Teacher & Coach) - Canton-Neil Charles Coir, 80, died Feb 25, 2017 at Maplewood Campus, Canton. Funeral service in the First Presbyterian Church of Canton with Rev. Michael P Catanzaro officiating. Burial in Fairview Cemetery. Arrangements with Lawrence Funeral Home, Canton. Neil was born Mar 14, 1936 in Morrisburg, Ont, son of William & Nellie Droppo Coir. After high school he graduated from St. Lawrence University in 1958, whee he played goalie for SLU hockey team. He attained his Master's in Education at SLU in 1960. He started teaching in Parishville and also at Norwood and at Canton Central School; he led the varsity hockey team at coach for ten yrs at Canton Central School. On Aug 20, 1960, he married Lois "Marilyn" Caloren in the Iroquois Anglican Church in Ontario, Canada. He was pre-deceased by three brothers and a sister. Neil is survived by his wife Marilyn of Canton; daughter Jennifer and Douglas Collins of Boston; a son Greg and Alexandra Coir of Newburyport MA; six grandchildren. Neil was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Canton; St. Lawrence Golf Club and was president of the Teacher's Union.
