Age 69, (NNCS Board Member) - Norfolk - The funeral for Robert G. Bailey, 69, was held at the Church of the Visitation with the Rev. Andrew J. Amyot officiating. Burial was made in the parish cemetery. Mr. Bailey died Tuesday evening in Hepburn Medical Center, Ogdensburg. He served in the Navy during the Korean War and was a teacher at Massena Central School District's Jefferson Elementary School until his retirement in 1992, after 35 years. Born July 6, 1931, in Norfolk, son of George and Mary Myers Bailey, he received bachelor's and master's degrees from Potsdam State Teachers College. He married Joan Daggett on June 29, 1957. He was a communicant of the Church of the Visitation and a member of the Norfolk Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad, the Lions Club and the American Legion Post. He was a former town of Norfolk supervisor and councilman and a Norwood-Norfolk Central School board member. A sister, Mary Markum, died in 1982.
