About	Age 89 - (NNCS 39 years) - Norfolk - The funeral for Francis W. Kelly, 89, was held at Church of the Visitation with the Rev. Andrew J. Amyot officiating. Burial was made in Visitation Cemetery. Mr. Kelly died Saturday in Canton-Potsdam Hospital, Potsdam. He was a teacher, vice principal, principal and school administrator with Norfolk Union Free School and Norwood-Norfolk Central School until his retirement in 1970, after 39 years. Born July 28, 1907, in Clifton, a son of Jeremiah and Ethel Rushton Kelly, he was a 1925 graduate of Pyrites High School, received a bachelor's degree in physical education at Ithaca College and received a master's degree from St. Lawrence University, Canton. He married Audrey L. Spotswood on Aug. 1, 1941, at St. Mary's Rectory, Canton, with the Rev. Herbert J. Hannan officiating. He was a member of Church of the Visitation, Northern New York Retired Teachers Association, Knights of Columbus Council 2390, Norfolk Investment Club and Norfolk Lions Club, where he was recipient of the Melvin Jones Lions award in 1996. He was a past member of Norwood Kiwanis Club. Surviving besides his wife are a son, Richard F.; a daughter, Mrs. Richard (Karen) Parson; a sister, Mrs. Frank (Eileen) Rocco; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A brother, Robert, died before him.
