Age 91, (NNCS cook) - Norfolk - Velma M. Robert, 91, formerly of River Road, died Tuesday at St. Regis Nursing Home, Massena. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Church of the Visitation, with the Revs. Andrew Amyot, John Kennehan, Everett Denesha and Monsignor Thomas Robillard presiding. Burial will be in Visitation Cemetery. Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today and Friday at the Buck Funeral Home. Surviving are two sons, Leon L., Norfolk, and Paul J., Kill Devil Hills, NC; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and several nephews and nieces. A son, Marshall S. Jr., died before her. Born Aug. 2, 1904, in St. Regis Falls, a daughter of Giles and Harriet Daggett Cheney, she married Marshall S. Robert Feb. 3, 1924, at St. Ann's Church, St. Regis Falls. Mr. Robert died June 6, 1962. Mrs. Robert was a cook with Norwood-Norfolk Central School District until her retirement. She was a communicant of the Church of the Visitation and a member of its Altar and Rosary Society. She was a member of Norfolk Grange and St. Lawrence County Pamona Grange.
