About	Age 74 - Bloomington, IN - Joan F. Belgarde, 74, of Bloomington passed away Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at the IU Health Hospice House in Bloomington. She was born on December 9, 1944 in Potsdam, New York, the daughter of John Clifford and Dorothy Agnes (Finnegan) Nash. She was a 1962 graduate of Norwood Norfolk High School in Norwood, New York. After graduating, she went on to work at Pilgrim State Hospital on Long Island. Joan married Charles Edward Belgarde on June 19, 1965 in Raymondville, New York. They were married for 49 years. Joan was a homemaker and also worked for Childs Elementary School in Bloomington as a teacher’s assistant for several years. Joan was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. She loved shopping and gardening, spending time with her grandchildren, family and friends. She also loved sitting on her back deck and watching her hummingbirds. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Joan is survived by her six children; John Michael Belgarde of Bloomington, Kelley A. (Jared) Marcus of South Bend, Amanda L. Belgarde of Bloomington, Kristen M. (Josh) Rayl of Ellettsville, Justin P. Belgarde of Bloomington, and Ashley L. Belgarde of Bloomington, three grandchildren: Avery Rayl, Lilly Rayl, and Grayson Marcus, and three sisters Susan Dean of Bloomington, Dorothy Nash of Bedford, and Lynne Jones of Canton, NY. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Charles. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00am Friday December 21, 2018 at the St. Paul’s Catholic Church, with visitation from 9:00am to time of Mass at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the St Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
