About	Age 73 - Inverness, FL - William C. Merkley Jr., 73, of Inverness, FL passed away on Saturday March 15, 2014 at home. William was born on February 8, 1941 in Potsdam, NY, the son of William and Beatrice Stark Merkley. He was a graduate of Norwood-Norfolk High School in 1959. William worked as a dental technician in Potsdam, Barrett's Paving in Norfolk, JC Merriman's in Norwood, Pro-Tech in Massena, he managed an apartment complex in Syracuse, drove tractor trailers and he retired from a marina in Florida. He married Phyllis Welch on June 16, 1962 in St. John's Church in Madrid, the marriage ended in divorce. He later married Sandra Dufore on February 14, 1992 and Sandra passed away on October 27, 1996. William is survived by his two sons, Scott, Canton; Michael, Daytona-Beach, FL and their mother Phyllis, Norwood; his sisters, Annette Merkley and Christine Colby, both of Norwood, four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A private burial will be held in Calvary Cemetery, Norwood. Arrangements are being handled by the Brown Funeral Home, Lecanto, FL. Local arrangements are with the Buck Funeral Home in Norwood.
