About	Age 54 - East Syracuse, NY - John G Pircsuk, 54 died February 12, 2014, of an apparent heart arrhythmia on his way to work in Oswego. John was born March 3, 1959 in Potsdam, the only son of Alexander J. and the late Eva Mae Steinburg Pircsuk. He graduated from Norwood-Norfolk High School in 1977. In 1979, he graduated from Canton ATC, where he was a member of the Delta Kappa Sigma fraternity, with an associates degree in applied science in Industrial Technology. John served in the United States Navy from 1980 to 1986 where he trained as a Nuclear Propulsion Plant Operator, receiving numerous awards and citations. His naval experience launched a 30 year career in the nuclear industry, including management roles at Niagara Mohawk Power Corporation's Nine Mile Point Two plant, Sithe Energies at Independence Station and the Constellation Nuclear training department. Most recently John worked at the Entergy Fitzgerald nuclear plant, where he was a Lead Simulator Operations Specialist promoted to Work Week Manager. Surviving besides his father, Alexander and step-mother, Dawn Grant Pircsuk, of Ives Hill Retirement Community, Watertown, are two sisters and their husbands, Cathy Pircsuk and James Burr of Watertown and Mary and Bernard Clary of Hannawa Falls. Also surviving are two nephews and a niece, Jeremy and Mary Burr, of Carmel, Indiana, Bernard J. Clary, of Croydon, Pennsylvania, Laurel Burr, of Miami Florida and a great-niece and two great-nephews, Jahmila, Jahnyah and Addae, also of Miami. A marriage to Cheryl LaVigne ended in divorce. John was an outdoorsman who enjoyed everything from biking and kayaking to skiing and working out. He was also an avid reader and proud gardener. His cooking and mixology skills were legendary. John's easy going manner and smile endeared him to the many people and pets who crossed his path, including his Siamese cat Poncho. He was the consummate host and party planner. Using building skills he learned from his father, he always had a project in the works. He lived life to the fullest. A memorial service will be held Monday, February 17, 2014 at 2 pm at St. Anthony's Church, with Reverend Donald Robinson officiating. Contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.
