About	Age 59 - Massena - After a long and courageous battle with cancer, Mrs. Florence M. Mossow, 59, of 192 Jefferson Ave, peacefully passed away in the comfort of her home on Monday evening, March 25, 2013, surrounded by her loving family. Florence was born July 14, 1953 in Potsdam, the daughter of Donald W. and Elizabeth A. (Mosher) Kerr and was a graduate of Norwood-Norfolk Central School Class of 1973. She later took nursing classes at North Country Community College in Saranac Lake. She was a certified nurse's aide at the St. Regis Nursing Home, Massena for 26 years and also sold Avon for many years. Florence was a strong advocate for breast cancer research and was a communicant of St. Mary's Catholic Church. She was an avid bowler for many years and over the years collected over 200 porcelain dolls that she proudly displayed throughout her home. In her generous spirit, she crocheted blankets for her many friends and family that were expecting babies. Florence is survived by her son, Joseph of Massena; her mother, Elizabeth A. Kerr of Norfolk; her siblings, Ann and Leland Green of Potsdam; Donald W. Kerr, Jr. of Massena; Richard Kerr of Norfolk; Deborah and Harold Peacock of Lisbon; Robert and Leona Kerr of Norfolk; Terry and Lisa Kerr of Chesapeake, VA; Tammy and Charles Horton of Norfolk; and Harry Kerr of Malone; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father, Donald W. Kerr, Sr. in 1973. Friends may call at the Donaldson Funeral Home, Massena, Wednesday, 3:30 -5:30 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday 6:00 PM at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Rev. Scott D. Fobare, celebrating. Burial will be later in the spring at St. Patrick's Cemetery, Colton. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Hospice and Palliative Care of St. Lawrence Valley or the American Cancer Society.
