About	Age 78 - Ogdensburg - Charles G. Papp, 78, of Richville, NY, passed away Wednesday, November 21st at Claxton Hospital, Ogdensburg. Calling hours will be at the Buck Funeral Home on Sunday, November 25 from 2-4 and a 6-8 pm. The Funeral Service will be held at the Church of Visitation, Norfolk at 11 am on Monday, November 26 with burial in The Church of Visitation Cemetery. Charles is survived by his wife, Lulu Day-Papp of Richville, a brother, Father Edward Papp, Ogdensburg, a sister, Mary Molnar of Massena as well as his cherished nieces: Cheri Zadory, Canada, Donna Ceurvorst, Lisle, IL; Ethel Houghton, Plattsburg, NY; Ann Liepitz, Elgin, IL; Lisa Lam, Naperville, IL and his cherished nephews: Gary Molnar, Oklahoma City, OK and Eric Molnar, Norfolk, NY and a host of friends. He is pre-deceased by a brother Julius Papp, Jr., a sister, Pearl Molnar and his first wife Ersel. Charles was a past member of The Church of Visitation, Norfolk, serving as music director for 30 years. Since 2005 he has been a member of St. Raphael, Heuvelton where he was a member of the choir. Charles graduated from Norwood-Norfolk Central School. He attended the Crane School of Music in Potsdam. He served in the army; in 1956 he was in Germany as a member of the 4th Armored Marching Band. He continued his love of music throughout his life. He played saxophone in North Country Bands. He played several instruments playing with friends and for personal enjoyment. He was a past member of the North County Barber Quartet, director of the Sweet Adelines in Massena and Potsdam. Charles was an avid photographer with more than 500 weddings to his credit. He enjoyed outdoor photography, as well as the love of "people" photos. He had a great love of nature, he enjoyed snow shoeing, cross country skiing. He had a variety of pets during his life, birds, rabbits, cats and dogs. During the past 5 ½ years he spent many hours outside with his dog, Teddy. He loved woodworking, creating many beautiful projects with his lath. He loved tools of every kind and had a great workshop. Charles retired from Farley Windows in 1999. Prior to that he worked for Blanchard Construction, Danko Construction, Robert Moses Power Dam and the St. Lawrence Railroad in Norfolk.
