About	Age 46 - Norfolk - The funeral for Martita Gladding, 46, Route 310, will be 8pm today at Garner Funeral Home, Potsdam, with the Rev. Robert Schirmer, officiating. The body of Martita Gladding will be cremated. Martita died Saturday at her home, where she was under the care of her family and Hospice and Palliative Care of St. Lawrence Valley. Martita had been ill with cancer. Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm today at the funeral home. Martita was a machine operator and was working at Highland Nursing Home in Massena when she became ill. Born Oct. 20, 1961 in Norwood, a daughter of Elson H. and Faye Loomis Gladding, she attended Norwood-Norfolk Central School. A marriage ended in divorce. She enjoyed camping, cooking, making quilts, paying bingo and helping others. Surviving besides her mother of Norfolk are a daughter Elizabeth and her husband Russell Crossman both of Norfolk, her companion of 32 years, Edward R. Plany, Norfolk, three sisters and two brothers-in-law; Anita and Steven Quarantello, Rochester; Christal and John Quilliam, Plattsburgh and Shelly Caswell, Saratoga; a brother Francis Loomis, MN, 8 nieces and 5 nephews.
