About	Age 36 - Dennis LaPage was a Private First Class Police Officer for the City of Charleston in SC. Dennis worked for that Police Force for 7 years. Dennis was killed in the line of duty at age 36. The incident started with a three car collision at Cannon Street and Courenay Drive, in front of a hospital helicopter landing pad. The suspect was involved in the 3-way car accident. The suspect went on a shooting spree, as two flight medics rushed to the scene from a restaurent nearby they were dining at, to aid the fallen victims, the suspect reached into his car and pulled out a handgun, shot both medics, killing one. The suspect fled the scene and encountered Officer LaPage, who was working a uniformed, off-duty security job at a private college dorm. The suspect thought Officer LaPage was searching for him and immediately opened fire, striking him three times, in the elbow, back, and head. Officer LaPage was wearing a bullet-proof vest at the time. Officer LaPage was survived by his wife and two step-children.
