Age 36 - Flagstaff, AZ - John P. Harris, 36, died Thursday at his home in Flagstaff, Arizona. For the past three years, John was director of the Special Winter Olympics for the state of Arizona. He had previously been a residence director at Southern Connecticut State University at New Haven. Born Oct. 21, 1961, son of George and Mary "Dolly" Darabon Harris, he was a 1979 graduate of Norwood-Norfolk Central School. He attended Geneseo State University College and then transferred to Brockport State University College, where he received a bachelor's degree. He returned to Geneseo College, where he was a residence director while taking courses to earn a master's degree through Buffalo State University. He also took advanced courses in alcohol and substance abuse counseling in Arizona. John was a former member of the Norfolk Rescue Squad. Surviving besides his father, are one sister, Mrs. Jeremiah (Nancy) Hammill, and several aunts, uncles and cousins. His mother died July 10, 1992. Burial was made in Visitation Cemetery, Norfolk.
