About	Age 18 - Stockholm - A young Norwood man apparently drowned sometime Saturday night or Sunday morning when the car he was driving went off the road and into a pond in the Town of Stockholm. Canton State Police say a car driven by Thomas R. Jarvis, 18, of R.D. 1, Norwood was discovered about 7:30 a.m. Sunday in a pond, in seven feet of water. Jarvis was driving his car south on the Eel Pond Road in Stockholm near the intersection of County Route 35, troopers said, and apparently gradually drove the car over to the left side of the road, across the north-bound lane, and off the east shoulder of the roadway. The car continued for about 200 feet and came to rest in the pond at a culvert, submerged in seven feet of water.Troopers said the car was observed Sunday morning and the driver was removed by a the Norwood Rescue Squad. The time of the accident was unknown troopers said. There will be no autopy. Death is tuled as aphyxiation due to drowning, according to state police. Funeral services Thomas R. Jarvis, 18, Rt. 1, Norwood, were Wednesday at 10 a.m. in St. Andrew's Church in Norwood with the Rev. Msgr. George Phillips officiating. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements were with the Buck Funeral Home in Norwood. There were be no calling hours. Surviving are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Jarvis; his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. William Jarvis of Norwood; and two brothers, Paul, 15 and Aaron, 11. He was pre-deceased by a brother, Peter. He was born June 14, 1965 in Potsdam, son of Bernard and Sharon Farmer Jarvis and graduated from Norwood-Norfolk Central School in 1983. He was a member of St. Andrew's Church arid was an altar boy there for several years. He was employed at the Augsbury J Mtini-Mart in Massena.
