| About Me | Pastor Michael A. Smith (Iymarie) was born in Kingston, Jamaica. With his family immigrating to the United States, Pastor Smith was reared in Norwalk, Connecticut. It was while a member of the Norwalk S.D.A. Church as a youth, that his gift of preaching and subsequent call to the Gospel Ministry was realized. The pastor of his youth, Elder Lawrence Mason saw this gift, and tutored Pastor Smith, giving him opportunity to preach and exercise his leadership abilities in the church. His baptism at age 15 came under the powerful life-changing evangelistic ministry of Elder Raymond 'Big Thunder' Saunders. Pastor Smith was elected as a Deacon at 16 years old. Upon graduating from High School, Pastor Smith enlisted in the United States Armed Forces, serving in both the (Active) U.S. Navy & (Reserve) U.S. Army National Guard. He was ordained as a Deacon at 19 years old. Upon completing his military service, Pastor Smith relocated to Huntsville, AL where he entered Oakwood University, majoring in Ministerial Theology. He was elected an Elder and ordained by Dr. John Nixon at 22 years old. While in Huntsville, AL he completed 2 years of Ministerial Training and was credentialed as a District Lay Associate Pastor by the Southern Union Conference under the leadership/training of Elder Ron Halverson. He has served as Assistant Pastor, Youth Pastor, (Volunteer) Hospital Chaplain, and Assistant Dean in the Southern Union (Local Conferences), Southern California, and Northern California territories, respectively. He also serves as Founder-President/CEO of Omega Ministries International, Inc. The Ministry serves to enlighten the world about Jesus Christ through philanthropy, humanitarianism, and the spoken Word of God. He is a well sought after preacher. Pastor Smith has preached all across the United States from the New England area, to the Mid-Atlantic States; from the Southern States to the Western Seaboard, and the Caribbean. From 2009-2010 Pastor Smith served in the beautiful state of Tennessee as Pastoral Associate, Literature Evangelist, and Personal Ministries Director for a small church. He served in the South Central Conference as a Field Coordinator for the Publishing Department where he promoted the GLOW Program among the 6 local churches in Huntsville. He is currently completing his Bachelor of Arts in Religion @ Andrews University. Pastor Smith has a passion for young people. As a Dean, Pastor Smith worked with At-Risk teens that were diagnosed with ADhD, Bi-Polar, and Substance Abuse Disorders. He also has a passion for (Inner City) local communities having trained and served as a Community Organizer/Actiivist in Los Angeles, Compton, & Watts, California. Pastor Smith is the former Assistant Dean and Literature Ministries Director @ Mount Vernon Academy, OH. Pastor Smith’s favorite Bible text is Prov. 3:5, 6 and his model Bible character is Moses. He desires to see Jesus soon and wants to share that desire with as many as possible so that they too can meet Jesus, the One who Saves! FINAL NOTE: Dear Friends, The Lord has blessed my ministry for over 18 years. I've had the privilege to serve under many pastors who have tutored and molded my professional career. My specific ministry skill set is in Youth & Young Adult Ministries, Men's Ministries, Restoration and Recovery from Porn-Addiction, Literature Evangelism, Prison Ministries, and Education Ministries pertaining to my two-time tenure as Assistant Dean and Chaplain/Counselor at the Academy level. In addition, I have a heart for Evangelism having been mentored under Elder E.E. Cleveland, and served as a Bible Worker & Literature Evangelist under Pastors Ron Hobson, Dr. Kendall Guy, And Dr. Sam Amfo, Jr. My most recent tenure was Assistant Dean @ Mount Vernon Academy, OH. I established the Literature Evangelism Training Center and served as Director. My preaching ministry has taken me all over the United States from California to Connecticut, from Florida to Ohio, from Alabama/Tennessee to New York.
