So Sorry to inform you that John passed away April 10 from cancer. He was surrounded by family and free from pain and discomfort. He so wanted to attend the reunion and received so much pleasure from reuniting with all of you NV alumni. The picture that you sent of John will be at his service this Friday which has grown so big that it is being held in the high school auditorium. A police procession and presentation of colors will be part of the service and the worship team from our church will be singing. I am so proud of the man he was and all that he represented but most of all, he was a man of faith. I will miss him so much. Thank you for all for being part of his life. Valerie Smart (John's wife)
