Mark S. Kincaid

Class of 1972

Mark graduated from Northmont H.S. in 1972. During his high school years he played football for four years and baseball for three years. He played on championship (GWOC) football teams fro Ned Booher. He was a starting center on the football team. He played with extreme dedication and enthusiasm. After high school he attended Morehead State College for one year before entering the private sector doing construction work in the Dayton area. He later completed his college education at Wright State University with a degree in secondary education. After college he was a teacher in several school districts before arriving back at his old high school in the early 1990's. At Northmont he was a girl's basketball coach in middle and high school for over seventeen years. Also during this time he has been the head coach of the reserve baseball team and an assistant coach on the varsity. The statistics for his basketball and baseball teams are remarkable. In between his coaching duties, Mark has made a lasting impression on those he has instructed both on the educational level as well as preparing them for life after high school. I have had many parents and other supporters of Northmont students say "Thanks" for his guidance and wisdom.
A side note on Mark and his family. He is married to Kitty Kincaid (nee DeWesse) also a Northmont grad, who have three children, Ross, Rene and Trisha, all of whom graduated from Northmont. Ross is a teacher at Northmont and coaches the freshman baseball team. He has inherited his father's ability to transform young men into adults.
It is for his sports accomplishments, coaching and teaching abilities that I submit his name for selection into the Northmont High School Hall of Fame.
