1965 to 1968. Basic at Ft Ord, CA; AIT at Ft Gordon, GA; 12 months at Korat, Thailand with the 1st Signal Brigade, DCA-SAM; then 18 months at Ft Bragg, NC attached to Special Forces with the 426th Signal Battalion.

Went active duty in August of 1979. After Basic Training and Tech School in Texas, spent 5 years at Sunnyvale Air Force Station in Sunnyvale, California and 3 years at McChord Air Force Base in Tacoma, Washington. Left the Air Force to come back home to Oregon.
