I went from an E-1 Pvt to an E-5 Sergeant in the Indiana Army National Guard; I worked with radios and communication equipment that went into UH-60 Blackhawks and humvees/ LMTVs etc. I took a year or so break around 2017 then went back in sometime in 2018 to serve in the 11B infantry as a Team Leader at the 293rd infantry division in the Fort Wayne area. I've been through a lot in my time with the guard i got promoted to sergeant around 22-23 years old and served for quite a few years after that as a sergeant. I never deployed anywhere but came close to going to Serbia, and Kuwait at different times. I got promoted out of my unit in shelbyville to lafayette due to me going from an E-4 specialist to an E-5 sergeant to go into more of a leadership role. I got out with a honorable/medical discharge in 2020. It takes a lot to serve, doesn't matter the branch you go into. We are all on the same team.
