About Terry Richard Peasland
Mr. Terry Richard Peasland, 64, of Frederick, died Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2011, at Frederick Memorial Hospital. Born Oct. 18, 1946, in North Tonawanda, N.Y., he was the son of Ruth Donna Robinson Peasland Gebera of Tonawanda, N.Y., and the late Theodore Peasland. He was the husband of Kerry A. Peasland, his wife of 27 years.

Mr. Peasland served for more than 20 years in the U.S. Air Force, with most of his time spent in the Orient and serving four tours in Vietnam as a crew chief. He and his wife met and married while both serving the military in England. He was discharged in 1987 as a sergeant.

He received a degree from the University of North Dakota in geography and worked for the Department of Defense as a cartographer. He retired in 2007 after 36 total years working for the government. He loved carving and assembling model ships from wood and was an avid New York Yankees fan.

Surviving, in addition to his wife and mother are two sons, Brian Scott Peasland and his wife, Latana, of Fargo, N.D., and Michael Richard Peasland and his wife, Sandy, of Grand Forks, N.D.; grandchildren, Nathan, Hannah, Tyler, Chay and twins, Jace and Jenner Peasland; sisters, Becky Fike and her husband, Jack, of Medina, N.Y. and Sue Landers and her husband, Dave, of Hague, N.Y.; brother, Tom Peasland and his wife, Marci, of Tonawanda, N.Y.; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Debbie Paffie.

A military service with full honors will be held this spring at Arlington National Cemetery.
