Sylvia Z. Lawton, controller for DiCamillo Bakery in Niagara Falls, died Wednesday (June 14, 2000) in Mount St. Mary's Hospital, Lewiston, after a seven-month illness. She was 42.
Mrs. Lawton, of Grand Island, was born Sylvia Schlemko in Medina.
She moved to North Tonawanda as a child and attended local schools. She was a 1975 graduate of North Tonawanda High School and later graduated from Bryant and Stratton.
Mrs. Lawton was employed for the past 10 years by DiCamillo Bakery and prior to that had worked as an accountant for Salada and Wynne and Co.

Sylvia was a loyal friend with a sweet spirit and brilliant CPA! Many times Sylvia helped me understand 9th-grade Algebra basics! Thank you so much! She loved Math telling me it was "fun" and made a life career from it! She was a woman of faith, too. Even though we didn't keep in touch often after I moved out of state, I remember Sylvia's gentle attitude and humble spirit. Rest in peace, Sylvia. Psalm 23 Corinne
