| About Me | Aside from a long and happy career in the Army, I dabbled in the Society for Creative Anachronism in 1983, but joined in October 1997 as a hobby, with my son at my side. My passions include German onomastics, armory, and history. One of my most recent sojourns took me to the Hindu Kush, where I spent time on the Silk Road. My alter egos, so to speak, are: Herr Gotfrid von Schwaben, a 13th C wandering German aspiring to become one of the Minnesänger. In the meanwhile, he makes a living as a herald for hire during his journeys. He enjoys brewing, woodworking, blacksmithing, archery, and dabbles at illumination. (Stick figures are his forte.) Guðvarr bjarnylr Móðólfsson is a 9th C bondi and resident of Jorvík.
