About Sandra Cote Obituary
Sandra Ann Cote (Napoletano) more commonly known as "Mama Bear", peacefully passed away in the company of her beloved husband, sister and children in her home in Ashford CT, the morning of August 26th, 2022, after a long and brave battle with cancer. She had just celebrated her 60th birthday on August 16th. She was born in New Haven, CT. She was the youngest of four, and survived by: Aldo Napoletano, Mike Napoletano and Karen Napoletano. Sandy was an amazing wife, sister, mother, and friend to many. In addition to her siblings, Sandy is survived by her husband Phil, and her three children Nikolas, Kristopher and Danielle. She was a devoted wife to Phil Cote, in which they shared over 35 years of marriage and happiness. She was also a loving and supportive mother, always attending or coaching her children's sporting events and activities. Sandy enjoyed many things, you could just say living life was her joy, but she especially enjoyed her time at home working on her garden, tending to her hummingbird feeders, paddle boarding on the lake, reading and writing poetry. She was an animal lover, which can be shown by her early years when she had her own dog grooming business. When she wasn't home, she enjoyed traveling to their home in Virginia and their family vacations to Sebago Lake. She made sure to be involved in the Mud Volleyball Tournament through the Epilepsy Foundation, she only missed two events in the years it has been a fundraiser. She also loved her work at Hole in the Wall Gang Camp, and always had a passion for helping others. She spent many years playing softball with her closest friends. She welcomed everyone she met with open arms and made them feel like family, usually with a hug and a plateful of food. She was a second mother to all. Family and friends are welcome to gather at Tolland Memorial Funeral Home located at 375 Merrow Rd, Tolland, CT 06084, Friday September 2nd 4PM-7PM. A Catholic Mass will be held at St Philip-Apostle Church, 64 Pompey Hollow Rd, Ashford, CT 06278, Saturday September 3rd, at 11AM. Burial will be held at St Philip's Cemetery following the mass, friends and family are welcome. In lieu of flowers Sandy has requested that donations be made to ALS Association, Epilepsy Foundation, or to The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Eastern Connecticut Sportsman's Club, 34 Seles Road, Ashford, CT 06278, following the burial.
