| About Me | Played baseball and Basketball at North High. Graduated in 1972. Accepted at Hagerstown Junior College (HJC) in 1972. Played baseball for HJC in 1973 and 1974. Was named All-Region and Honorable Mention JUCO All-America in 1974. Received full scholarship to play baseball at Clemson University in 1974. Played baseball for Clemson in 1977 and 1976. Was named 2nd team All Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) in 1976. Played in 1976 College Baseball World Series in 1976. Graduated from Clemson in 1977 with BS degree. Selected to HCC Sports Hall of Fame and Washington County Sports Hall of Fame. Married former Teri Coleman (NHHS Class of 1976) in 1983. Have one son (Scott) who was born in 1992. Mom and Dad (Bill and Peggy), brother (Rick) and two sisters (Jody and Sherry) still living in Hagerstown. Brother Tom is living in Northern Virginia. Normally get back to Hagerstown for a week in July and also over the Christmas Holidays. Teri, Scott and I have been living in Palm Harbor, FL. (about 10 miles north of Clearwater) since 2001. Previously lived in Nashville, TN (1982-1987), York, PA (1987-1989), Clearwater, FL (1989-1998), Marion, IL (1999-2001), prior to moving to Palm Harbor, FL. Retired in April 2013 from defense company General Dynamics (GD). Traveled to 35 different companies with GD. Previously worked for Avco/Textron Aerostructures (Nashville) and Mack Trucks (Hagerstown). All-time favorite jobs were substitute teaching at North and South High, and E. Russell Hicks elementary schools, and bartending part time at the Broad Axe Tavern in 1979, while also playing baseball for the Hagerstown Braves. Currently serving as a volunteer starter at Chi Chi Rodriquez Golf Course in Clearwater, playing golf about 2-3 times a week, and having dinner and drinks with friends at the Varsity Club Sports Bar/Restaurant on the weekends.
