About Me	In 1983 my family and i filed a federal lawsuit against DEFACS on behalf of my niece Kathy Jo Taylor. The case went all the way to the Supreme Court of the United States and won the right of foster children to sue the state. Kathy was in a coma caused by her foster mother for fourteen and a half years. Sadly she passed away on April 14, 1997. Without ever coming out of the coma.
