About Me | I'm a married man who never thought he'd get the chance. For most of the first part of my life, I was homosexual. Through the help of Exodus International and a lot of support from friends (gay and straight) I have outgrown my gay attractions to the point where I only appreciate a good looking male like any other guy would appreciate another good looking guy. My insterest in gender on my profile was meant to raise eyebrows. I assume the item was meant to indicate if I was sexually interested in women or men but it didn't actually say that. As it so happens, I am very happily married but am also very excited about relationships with my stwo step sons and with other male friends of mine (both gay and straight). I have complete respect for those gays who choose to remain gay. That's a choice that's about you, not me and I have no business telling you what to do. I have many gay friends and hope to make many more over the years. I am a WASP with emphasis on the P. I'm very committed to my spiritual life and am eager to help and meet others who feel the same way or don't feel that way at all but wonder why I do all things considered. My biggest life's project has been the restoration of antique pianos for over 20 years now. I have grown to the point where I have outgrown most of my peers and offer rebuilding that exceeds that which is normally found out there. My prices reflect my work but I will literally spend an entire year of my life rebuilding somebody's piano and expect to get paid at least a reasonable sum, not an extravagent one, for my efforts. The money is needed if I'm going to eat but it's really all about the pianos for me. I also enjoy the learning about and working on building custom guitars. I'm currently in the process of making two harp/archtop guitars that will be unlike any guitars of the sort ever built anywhere. Watch in the coming year or so for me to be showing those more. I have two half done but am concentrating on pianos right now. You can watch my piano work at www.pianorestoring.net. I do say that a gay person does not have to stay gay unless they want to but my primary concern is whether you know Jesus Christ as your personal Savior. I know that He accepts both the gay and the straight into his loving arms. For those who feel gay, He will work in your heart and will encourage you through His spirit and through other Christians to go through the journey one takes when growing out of homosexual attractions into a heterosexual life. It's very doable. At the same time, if a gay person reads this; don't take offense. I'm quite content to accept you as a friend even if you don't believe me or don't like my opinion. I'm happy and ready to be friends anyhow. Many of my best friends have still not taken the plunge into a journey out of homosexuality. That doesn't make me love them any less. The rest of me (although it takes up 99% of the rest of my time and thinking is afterthought from what I've already said.) My primary source of income for the last twenty years has been in the rebuilding of pianos, player pianos, reproducing player pianos and orchestions. My piano business is still one I love to talk about and would love to "friend" people who are interest in pianos. My plans are to go into partial retirement in piano rebuilding within the next three years. I will still always be rebuilding something. But I have several pianos of my own that I want to rebuild/build and a number of other pianos that belong to customers that I'm finishing up now. My big plans for the next stage of my life is to expand my artistic interests and express myself in art forms that I have left untouched due to preoccupation with pianos. I am already set up with a jewelry making studio and have many pieces made, ready to sale. When time allows and I have enough product to make a store viable I will be putting one up. I also have plans to complete a number of piano related projects as time allows. I am rebuilding an 1885 Chickering Concert Grand piano in such a way that, when done, it will be the longest piano in the world. It's finished length is currently calculated to be 11 feet long, it will weigh between one and two tons and will have 60,000 lbs. of tension on its strings. But that's nothing to the other piano I'm going to build to go with it. I originally had plans to build a 40 rank pipe organ in my house (before I got married) but had to abandon that project due to space constraints. I will be hooking up my percussion loft which contains a harp, a xylophone, a marimba and a glockenspiel so that they will operate from a keyboard(s) at the Chickering. But to replace the pedal notes of the pipe organ, I'm making another piano which will be 14 feet long that will go down to 64 foot CCCCC in pipe organ lingo. It's the lowest note you'll find in any major pipe organ in the world. The lowest note vibrates so slowly that you actually feel it in your chest more than actually hearing it as a definite pitch. It will, still enhance pitches that are in tune with it being played elsewhere. Both of these instruments will be set up with electronic player systems so that I can maximize my use of them. After these instruments are done, I have a pair of museum piece pianos which I will be rebuilding as well. One is a Schimmel Giraffe piano and the other is a Bennett with a very unusual design that appears to be a prototype that was never placed fully onto the market. There's lots more to know about me and I hope to tell those of you out there who are interested about it as time goes by. Check out my piano rebuilding web site at: www.pianorestoring.net You can find enlarged photos of my jewelry on my web site at this URL: www.pianorestoring.net/jewelry.htm Having recently upgraded to Windows 7, my web building software no longer functions so the web site is updating slower than in the past but it is moving forward by using my old "Vista" laptop. After careful study, it is looking more and more like Microsoft is intentionally sabotaging their OS software to make it impossible for anyone less than a corporation to be able to do business on the net. Not only can I not use any Microsoft web building software on Windows 7 Basic but it won't work on Ultimate either. A prediction for everyone: Within the next ten years either Microsoft will be out of business or the Internet will no longer be a place of e-commerce for the "little guys." Computers of the future will be good only as word processors, email, gaming and web browsing tools. Much of the functionality of the computer is being made intentional...(read more) |
