About Me	After college, I taught high school science in rural SC for two years. Then I joined the Peace Corps and taught high school science in Malaysia in the mid-1970's. After returning from Malaysia, I went to graduate school at Emory, and have worked mostly in medical libraries since 1977. My first job after Emory took me to Mobile, AL, where I met my wife Rajia, and we moved to San Antonio, Texas in 1980 shortly after we married, where I worked for 18 years at the medical school library. We started our family late: first son Andrew was born in 1987, and second son Patrick was born in 1989. Both sons are now in college: Andrew at Evergreen in Olympia, WA, and Patrick at St. Edwards in Austin. My older son was active in scouting and made Eagle shortly before his 16th birthday. I served as an assistant scout master and treasurer for the troop for six years. I took a 5-year career hiatus from 1998-2002 to work with a German company that does business in the US with academic and research libraries. This gave me a lot of opportunities to travel in the US, and to Europe. In 2003 I took each of my sons on a European adventure. Patrick was interested in the history of Roman Empire, so we went to Rome for spring break mostly to see the ancient ruins. Andrew is more interested in outdoor adventures, so we hiked the Dingle Way, County Kerry, on the west coast of Ireland for a week in August.
