During career, Mike traveled all over the USA and 27 countries around the world. Lived in Chicago 3 times, Newport RI, Maryland, Houston 2 times, Calgary Canada and Greenville SC. Just retired from in 2011 after 30 years of work for Fluor Corp. Registered Professional Engineer and PMI Licensed Project Manager. FLUOR CORPORATION (1980-2011) Worked for Fluor Corp. in the area of Engineering Design & Construction in a broad spectrum of industries including the following: power plant environmental projects, chemicals, petrochemicals, oil refining, oil & gas production, natural gas processing, synthetic fuels, plastics/polymers, synthetic fibers, aluminum metals, and US Government DOE & DOD projects. Worked as Program Manager, Project Manager and Engineering Manager on various Fluor projects. Worked as Fluor Project Manager in the Project Execution Services Dept. developing and teaching various project management / project execution training courses throughout the world. Worked as Lead Process Engineer (chemical engineer) on various Fluor projects in the United States and Canada. Worked as Manager of Carbon Capture Program for Fluor Power. PETROMAS, INC. (1979 to 1980) Worked as senior process / project engineer for this small engineering design & construction company in Houston working on various refinery, chemical plant and fuel oil terminal projects. CHARTER OIL COMPANY (1973 to 1979) Worked as process engineer, process environmental engineer and manager of crude oil planning at the Charter oil refinery in Houston. UNIVERSAL OIL PRODUCTS (UOP) (1967 to 1973) At UOP's petroleum refining pilot plant complex in Chicago, worked as research & development process engineer on refining processes in 1970-1973. Also worked as summer process engineer at the UOP catalyst manufacturing plant in Shreveport, LA for summers of 1967, 1968 and 1969) U.S. NAVY RESERVES (1971-1972) LT. JG - Naval Officer. Graduated from US Navy OCS in New Port, RI. Taught chemistry at Naval Academy Prep School in Maryland. Mike received his Boy Scout Eagle Scout Award in 1966. Once his son was old enough, Mike was a Cub Scout den leader for 4 years and a Boy Scout assistant scoutmater for 8 years. Mike's son is also an Eagle Scout and now a dentist in Greenville, SC.
