Enlisted Septembe 1971, RTC Great Lakes, Damage Control "A" School Philadelphia, Welding School San Diego. Off to Pearl Harbor and West Pac cruise. Visited Philipines, Tiawan, Japan. Re-enlisted and went to Nondestructive Testing of Metals School San Diego 1974. Up to Bremerton to next shipin overhaul then off to Holy Loch Scotland. 1980 back to Pearl Harbor to the Submarine Base to run the NDT Lab. 1982 off to La Maddelena Sardinia to another ship. 1984 Kings Bay Georgia. to another ship and back to Holy Loch Scotland via Pascagoula, Mississippi. 1990 transferred to Shore Intermediate Maintenance Activity, Charleston, SC as the NDT Division Officer. Retired 30 June 1992 as Hull Maintenance Technician Chief Petty Officer, Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist after 21 years of service.

Entered the Navy a couple of weeks after graduation and attended Boot Camp in San Diego. My first duty station was the aircraft carrier USS Constellation and I made three Western Pacific cruises crossing the equator for the first time on July 7, 1977 (7/7/77). I re-enlisted in 1979 and then reported to my second duty station, Trident Training Facility Bangor, Washington. I left there in 1981 and returned to sea duty aboard the guided missile nuclear cruiser USS Truxtun, participated in the celebration of the battle of the Coral Sea. I left the Navy at a rankof E-6 (First Class Boatswain's Mate). During my 8 year stint in the Navy, I visited Hawaii, Philippines, Thailand, Hong Kong, Singapore, South Korea, Japan, Diego Garcia, Australia (East and West coasts), Tasmania, Tonga and New Zealand.

served with 3rd infantry division out of savannah Georgia during the inital invasion into Iraq in 2003 and was also deployed to Bosnia for a peacekeeping mission in 2001. Then deployed twice to Iraq while stationed in friedberg Germany with the 1st Brigade 1st armored division.
