Johnny, known as “Archie”by his friends, died suddenly from a tragic accident while working at his job in Atlanta, Georgia.
His memorial service took place in Atlanta, GA some time in August, 1999. Among those in attendance, was his wife, their two daughters, his three sisters, his long time friends from New York as well as who had come to know him in the Atlanta area. He is deeply missed.
Robert Lofaro '73 said:
Johnny (Archie) was a uniquely comical character. His persona was bigger than life. He was powerful, and was built like a rock. Even his muscles had muscles. Hie could be loud and bawdy, yet gregarious and good-natured. He was very humorous and surprisingly clever. Although he could crush you with his bare hands, I have never seen him physically hurt a living soul. Most of all he was a good friend.
