About Me	After graduating UNL in '62, married Deanna Wrasse of Ansley, NE. We lived in Goettingen Germany for my year as a Fulbright Fellow. Upon returning to US, moved to Northern California to attend Stanford. Did my PhD research at the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center, at the time it was first being built. Stayed on for my career, as a staff member. Switched to computer research at SLAC in the 70's. Retired reluctantly at 50 in 1994, to avoid layoffs due to Texas SuperConducting Supercollider using up too much money (later it was canceled, but too late for me to stay at SLAC). Set up an international standards institute, SCIzzL, in the Computer Engineering department of Santa Clara University, to continue work on extremely high speed computer interface architecture (Scalable Coherent Interface, which led to the widely used LVDS standard and to RapidIO) which was used by most supercomputers, internally. Then worked on open standards for high performance memory. Retired again in 2000. Consulted, mostly for patent attorneys, off and on for several years. Trying to retire again.
