| Favorite School Memory | I guess it would have to be about my friends, maybe keg parties in some pasture out in the countryside. Nebr. was a pretty place in the 60's and 70's, I remember it being scenic in some places. Music of the period was fantastic! Adventures on mortorcycles come to mind. It was a druggy era whether we like to block that out of memory or not. It was a very big part of life at the time and influenced everything, mostly for the worse but sometimes left me with deep memories and experiences that matter. That was then, I've never liked any conn...(read more) |
| About Me | Had some Pizza w/ alcohol lic. locations for a few years after Univ. (which I left to do business). That was perfect, it gave me a power boost and enabled me to do pretty much whatever I wanted and pursue almost unlimited travel impulses. Got a hot air balloon (so 70's), hung out in Miami and Jamaica/Carib spots for kicks. That is until I spent the fairly decent net worth I'd built up and had to cook up something new that would allow me to be totally mobile anywhere in the world. So after a lull that I didn't particularly like because I was sort of stuck in place with champagne tastes, I started going to Bangkok, Taipei, Manila and other Asian haunts as well as S. Africa in '85 Loved those places, didn't want to return to the US so I cooked up a way to do business while based in Asia. I'd hung out in Austin for a half year(?). Opened an office in Taiwan, still have it. Visa runs were mandatory in Taiwan at 60 day intervals max so just flew to other countries. I hung out about half the time in Thailand, Bali, Lombok or here and there in Philippines, some VN, Kuala Lumpur et al. Did that for 25 years or so. Started going to Africa right at the change of gov't, bought a wonderful house, built a factory and manufactured / exported. Business boomed in the 90's, lucky me. Spent quite a bit of the time in Italy buying machinery etc. I know my way around S. Europe pretty well without needing maps. Love France and Spain like everyone else. I don't waste time trying to be practical. Update Dec. 2017, am back in Thailand doing some motorcycle touring in the north. Based here for the next few years, will fumble around in Zambia, M...(read more) |
