| Favorite School Memory | I really enjoyed playing the part of Consuelo in "West Side Story"! I also just remember a general air of friendship and relaxation at school. Maybe it was because we were THE FIRST CLASS to enjoy the wonderful new building and the first class to experience all four years of high school there. We're the bright folks who decided on the cougar mascot. I have no "bad" memo...(read more) |
| About Me | I held a couple of jobs; went to a semester of college and realized it wasn't for me (though I may try it now!); trained to be a dog groomer; did that for a year; moved to Texas to rediscover my "roots" and get reacquainted with my cousins and aunts; lived there for 1 1/2 years; moved back to Colorado where I met my hubby in the church choir. Got married. Inherited 4 step-kids. At this point we moved back to Minnesota, which is my hubby's birth place. We eventually had 3 more wonderful children: Jordan (26) Josh (24) and our daughter Micah (17). I spent 19 years homeschooling the last three kids. They've grown up into three of my favorite people in the world. They are full of integrity, good humor, and unlike me in high school, they have many goals for the future. Jordan and Josh are in a Christian Alternative band called "Phoenix Awakening" and minister regularly. Josh is getting married in April. Micah is a fantastic athlete (great at gymnastics!) and a fun loving person. She's getting married in May! We live on a small farm in northern Minnesota (where the -60 degree winds blow) and have spent many years loving the rural life: vegetable gardening, milking goats, raising chickens, having lots of horses and dogs around the place. I'm still singing at church occasionally, but REALLY love hearing my son Jordan sing! (His band has a My Space page if anyone is interested! LOL!) I love reading English literature and I'm still interested in what's happening in Israel. I love embroidery and drawing, but don't get around to it much these days. It looks like we'll have an empty nest soon, so maybe I'll have time for more of that sort of thing. Maybe a spot of my own in the loft of our log house? We're trying to start a family business right now and are learning about all of the hoops you have to jump through to do that. Right now I'm working in a deli and I guess that also is helping to form my character in many ways. =0> Above all else, I'm trying to follow the Lord Jesus and become more like Him. He has His work cut out for Him! I am filled with gratitude to Him that my children know Him and follow Him and we have nothing to fear, because when our part in this play we call life is over, w...(read more) |
