About	Karen was a wonderful sister, friend, teacher, mother and grandmother. Her life was cut short when she fought a great battle with pancreatic cancer. Karen was active in high school as a band member, majorette and participated in many clubs. This was the same in adult life dedicating herself to helping others by teaching in the Philadelphia School System working with teenagers who were handicapped mentally or abused. She was committed to help them be successful in both life and school and helped many. She is the mother of Hillary and grandmother to Olivia. She is missed by her family and friends.

I have fond memories of Karen. She was always together, graceful and forgiving; particularly for younger band members who were sometimes just stumbling through. She worked hard, and it showed. She will be forever young and beautiful in my mind and memories. God bless her for the gifts she brought to us. A life well lived.
