| About Me | I met my husband George in 1976 when I was finishing graduate school and he was a newspaper editor; together we have lived in Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, Mississippi, and have been in North Carolina since 1991. I am a psychologist with a clinical practice serving adult clients; George is a journalism professor at Elon University. Retirement is still down the road a bit; we both are enjoying our work too much to stop just yet. We have two terrific adult kids, both adopted as infants from Korea in 1985 and 1987. Both now live in nearby cities; our son Josh is an architect in Charlotte, NC, and daughter Mandy lives and works In Durham, NC as an editor and assistant director of video productions. We are extremely proud of both of them and are delighted that they continue to have very close relationships with us. My sister Lori, (NHS '72 grad), lives in Erie, PA and is a recently retired children's librarian. Other alums may remember my parents, Bill and Ruth Potts, both of whom were former NHS teachers. After retirement they lived in FL for 15 years before joining us here in NC. Both are greatly missed since they passed away, Dad at age 82 in 2003, and Mom in 2016 at age 96. I appr...(read more) |
