About Me	I've lived in Blue Hill, Maine, since 1975, when 14 unkempt friends and I bought 70 acres of uninhabited woods to live on & farm. Forty years later, 8 originals are still here, having raised our children, lived our lives as close friends but not as the commune we anticipated, and become part of this extraordinary Downeast community of about 2000 people, with a groundswell during the summer of even more artists, musicians, and people from away, among them Jill Finsen. Over the years, I've been very involved with The Bay School, the 1st Waldorf school in Maine which I helped start around 1980 (purely from self-interest for my own children); Kneisel Hall Chamber Music Festival, where I was the Administrator/Music Librarian; Bagaduce Music Lending Library, Collections Manager; Blue Hill Concert Association, Pres. of Board; WoodenBoat Magazine, typesetter; private piano teacher. I've lived in the Negev Desert, I've travelled extensively, often by myself, I've sung in a local opera company that toured twice in Russia, Japan & France, singing opera in Russian, German, Italian, & French and not understanding a word of it, I worked at Harvard Law School at the same time Obama was there, and I've sold hamburgers at a PX in Germany. I've just completed 9 years as a Trustee for our fabulous semi-public library, and I'm a knitter of one-off hats/scarves/mittens, available at a gallery in Blue Hill. My children, Joshua Conterio (Brown, 1999) & Johanna Conterio Geisler (Yale, 2001, Harvard 2014), are both married and left the woods of Maine for Providence and Cambridge/NYC. Among their many & varied talents, they both know how to survive without electricity or indoor plumbing, should the need arise. My Canadian husband, Claude Dupuy, and I have lived for 25 years in the house I built with my former husband; we can go days with only the sounds of coyotes, owls, raccoons, and Netflix.
