Tom was active in campus organizations at BVU, including Student Senate (serving as President his senior year), general manager of the student-operated TV station where he had his own talk show, and a member of the cross country team. He interned at an ABC television station in Houston, Texas as a live production assistant for news and Super Bowl productions and during the January interim of his senior year interned with the Washington, D.C. bureau of NBC News where he assisted with the Presidential Inauguration coverage.
Following graduation, Tom was accepted to the NBC Page program in New York City where he worked on shows such as “Saturday Night Live.” He then was named as an administrative assistant for two vice presidents in NBC's executive offices and later worked as a production associate for Peacock Productions, a division of NBC Network News. Today, he is an associate producer for MSNBC (NBC News) in New York City.
