Sonny Siaki

American Samoan professional wrestler[24]

What is Sonny Siaki known for?

Sonny Siaki, born on July 23, 1974 in Pago Pago, American Samoa, is an American retired professional wrestler of American Samoan descent. He is best known for his time in NWA Total Nonstop Action (now known as Impact Wrestling), where he was a one-timeTNA X Division Champion.

At the age of three, Siaki's family moved around the United States before settling in Wilmington, North Carolina. He graduated from New Hanover High School and later received a football scholarship from East Carolina University. Unfortunately, a serious injury ended his chances of pursuing a professional football career.

Siaki began his professional wrestling career after a tryout at the WCW Power Plant in 1998. Siaki soon fell out with WCW and moved on to Turnbuckle Championship Wrestling where he got further training from the owner, Dusty Rhodes.

Siaki debuted in NWA Total Nonstop Action in 2002 as part of the comic heel stable The Flying Elvises. After the group disbanded, Siaki joined the faction Sports Entertainment Xtreme and won his only title in the promotion, the TNA X Division Championship. After various tag team formations and rivalries, Siaki's contract with TNA expired in December 2005 and he left on good terms.
