Algernon Darius "Alge" Crumpler is a former professional American football player who had a successful ten-season stint in the National Football League (NFL). Born on December 23, 1977, in Greenville, North Carolina, he paved his way to fame while playing as a tight end in the NFL.

Alge's early years were spent at New Hanover High School in Wilmington, North Carolina, where his football talent was on full display. He was an All-Midwest 4-A Conference selection and demonstrated his athletic prowess not only in football but also in track and field, winning state championships in discus and shot put.

After high school, Alge polished his football skills at the University of North Carolina. During his tenure with the Tar Heels, he was a three-time, first-team All-Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) pick. His football career took a professional turn when he was selected by the Atlanta Falcons in the second round of the 2001 NFL Draft.

During his professional career, Alge played for the Atlanta Falcons from 2001 to 2007, the Tennessee Titans from 2008 to 2009, and the New England Patriots in 2010. He was a four-time Pro Bowl selection between 2003 to 2006, an impressive accolade that attests to his skills on the field.
