Sheila attended all New Castle Public Schools, starting at Holland Elementary. Growing up she attended Weslyn Methodist Church. Sheila retired from Draper Shade in Spiceland.
Sheila was preceded in death by her much loved ( by all who knew them ) parents, Austin & Corene Cargile.
Sheila is survived her son, Nicholas J. Carter & wife Kristi, her grandson Dominick , as he was the light of her life. One Brother Ronnie & wife Joan of New Castle, 2 Sisters, Eileen Marcum & husband Donnie of Speedway Ind and Sherri Brown of New Castle. Several nieces & nephews.
Sheila was proud to be from New Castle & that her brother & sisters all attended & graduated from New Castle. Sheila had one last great trip with her life long friend of over 55 years, Becky Platts before her health took a turn. They spoke of that trip & how she looked forward to more, even one of taking their grandchildren. Sheila loved NASCAR with Tony Stewart her favorite. Most of all Sheila loved her family. She is missed by them all. A life ended to soon.

As a 10 yo girl who moved from Dallas to NC, Sheila was my 1st friend.. my FOREVER FRIEND until the day she died. We lived apart most of our lives.. but our hearts were ALWAYS connected ❤️ We took our last trip just a month before she started getting sick.. I’ll forever be grateful to God for her, her family & her LOVE
