About Constance Sue “Connie” Williams Griffin, age 55, went home to be with the Lord Friday.
She was born to the union of Wilbur and Wilma Myers Williams on May 6, 1954 in New Castle, Indiana.
She was a lifelong resident of New Castle and a 1972 graduate of New Castle Chrysler High School. She retired from being a state employee after thirty five years of service, having divided her time between the New Castle State Developmental Center and the Knightstown Soldiers and Sailors Home. She was a member of the Wiley United Methodist Church. Connie loved to play softball and basketball. She also coached girl’s softball for several years. Her hobbies included fishing and bowling. Connie united in marriage to Rollin Griffin on August 31, 1984.
Connie leaves to cherish her memory, her parents, Wilbur and Wilma Myers Williams of New Castle; her brother, Steve Williams of New Castle; a step-son, David Kennedy of Muncie; a niece, Edana Williams of Indianapolis; nephews: Mark Williams and Dameon Williams, both of Indianapolis, and Josh Williams of New Castle; an uncle, Marion Williams of Richmond; also many cousins; and devoted friends, including special friends, Della and Julie Teel, all of which will have many memories to cherish.
Connie was preceded in death by her husband, Rollin Griffin; a brother, Duane Williams; her grandparents; and several aunts and uncles.
Visitation will be from 6 – 8 P.M. Tuesday and one hour prior to the funeral service on Wednesday at Wiley United Methodist Church. Funeral Services will be 11 A.M. Wednesday at the church with Rev. Ralph Newkirk and Pastor Mary Jane Modlin officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery. Online condolences may be made at www.maerhall.com.
