About | William A. "Bill" Cook, age 61, passed away peacefully Monday afternoon, June 1, 2015 at his home at Lamb Lake in Trafalgar. He was born on September 3, 1953 in New Castle. Bill was a 1972 graduate of New Castle High School and went on to earn a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from Manchester College in 1976. While at Manchester College, Bill earned Varsity Letters in Track and Cross Country. He also earned his Eagle Scout Award from the Boy Scouts of America in 1971. He married Connie Welch on September 25, 1976 in North Manchester. Together they raised two sons: Bryan (Kristin) Cook of Bargersville and Shawn (fiancé, Stephanie Tutterow) Cook of Bloomington. Bill is also survived by his companion: Ginny Byrket of Westfield; siblings: Priscilla (Lee) Hullinger of Greentown, Anne (Leon) Kissick of Deltona, FL and Jeff (Connie) Alexander of Muncie; grandchildren: Elijah, Jonah and Harper Cook; and several nieces and nephews. Bill was the owner and agent of Bill Cook State Farm Agency in Nashville from 1990 to present. He was a member of the State Farm's Presidential Club and earned many other recognitions for his success. Prior to State Farm, he held the position of Customer Service Manager for PSI. Bill was a member of the Brown County Chamber of Commerce, Lamb Lake Homeowner's Association, South Central REMC and the Kiwanis Club. He was an avid fan and season ticket holder of the Indianapolis Colts. Bill was also a fan of Indiana University Athletics. He enjoyed living at Lamb Lake where he could enjoy the outdoors by boating, skiing and entertaining his family and friends. A celebration of Bill's life will be officiated by his brother, Jeff Alexander, on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Meredith - Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry St. in Morgantown. Friends may call from 3 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home and from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Saturday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be sent in honor of Bill to the Honey Rock Camp for Youth Leadership and Development, 8660 Honey Creek Road, Three Lakes, WI 54562. |
