About Me	Just the average Southern man, with way too much work and way too many hobbies.... I've been called a Renaissance Man by some, because my interests are so varied, but I think you have to wear fashionable clothes for that descriptor to fit. :-) People ask me why I became an Episcopalian after being raised as a Southern Baptist. The answer is pretty simple, but I have to make an analogy of it: When you were a kid, your mother told you not to cross the street. At that age, the only reason why you obeyed was to avoid the spanking that would result from it. You clearly understood the bad implications of the act. As an adult, you came to realize that she didn't WANT to punish you, she just didn't want you to get run over by a bus. Even as an adult, my simple child-like mind clearly understands the penalties of a sinful life. My adult psyche needs to understand the positive sides of striving for a pious life, which is a better motivator to me than the constant threats of punishment.
