NEW BEDFORD – Elaine M. (Arruda) Dunaway, 62, of Fairhaven, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at St. Luke's Hospital. She was the daughter of the late John and Mary Evelyn (Borges) Arruda.
She was born in New Bedford and resided primarily in Florida and other southern and midwestern states. Elaine returned to school to obtain her high school diploma in 1997. She was previously employed as a Residential House Manager for a group home. She was a Christian woman attending services at Hope Evangelical Community. Elaine loved to sing karaoke traveled with a group to various locations. In her younger years, she was was a member of bowling leagues and enjoyed crafts.
She is survived 2 brothers, John B. Arruda and his wife, Patricia of New Bedford and Rodney Arruda and his wife, Lori of Somerset; 1 sister, Michelle Arruda of Louisville, Kentucky; 13 nieces and nephews, Crystal, the late John Joseph, Elizabeth, Erin, Joshua, Jacob, David, Gary, Joey, Mike, Daniel, Devon and Olivia; many great nieces and nephews and many great-great nieces and nephews.
