About	April 26, 2009 NEW BEDFORD - Gary J. Mahon of New Bedford died unexpectedly at home Sunday, April 26, 2009. Born in New Bedford, the son of Gloria A. (Rapoza) Mahon of New Bedford and the late John J. Mahon, he was a lifelong resident of the city and a 1976 graduate of New Bedford High School. Gary worked as a painter for various area painting contractors. He was an avid bowler and had bowled a 300 game. He also enjoyed fishing and was a member of the Redmen Club. Gary loved his garden and his companion, Ted E. Bear, his dog. He is survived by his mother; a sister, Cheryl A. Viveiros and her husband George of New Bedford; a niece, Kaelyn E. Viveiros of New Bedford; a nephew, Derek M. Viveiros and his fiancé Stephanie Raposa of New Bedford; and several aunts and uncles, Brenda and Ron Dias, Ron and Cecile Rapoza, Steve and Kathleen Dougherty and Patrick and Gaetane Mahon. Gary was the uncle of the late Brie-Anne Viveiros. Funeral Information His funeral will be Thursday, April 30, 2009, at 10:00AM in THE DONAGHY FUNERAL HOME, 465 County Street, New Bedford, followed by interment in South Dartmouth Cemetery.
