NEW BEDFORD — Thomas R. Blake, 52, of New Bedford, died Monday, February 4, 2008, unexpectedly at home. He was the beloved son of Rachel (Boardley) Blake of New Bedford and the late Thomas Blake, Jr.
NEW BEDFORD — Thomas R. Blake, 52, of New Bedford, died Monday, February 4, 2008, unexpectedly at home. He was the beloved son of Rachel (Boardley) Blake of New Bedford and the late Thomas Blake, Jr.
He was born in New Bedford and was a lifelong resident.
Mr. Blake was a volunteer at the canteen for the Special Single Fire Association of Cranston. He loved trains since he was a child and he enjoyed watching them from the corner of Purchase and Coggeshall Streets.
He was a well known figure in the North End neighborhood where he lived and he was a friend to all.
Survivors include his mother; his loving sister, Beatrice Bruce of New Bedford; 1 nephew, Matthew Thomas Bruce; 1 niece, Katie Lynne Bruce; his good friend, Steven Carvalho and the Carvalho family with whom he traveled; several cousins and many other friends including his firefighter friends from Cranston.
Funeral arrangements entrusted to Aubertine-Lopes Funeral Home, 129 Allen St., New Bedford.
